The Story Behind River's Edge:
River's Edge was a labor of love. We personally purchased this property located on the Muskoka River in the summer of 2019. The original intent was to AirBnB River's Edge and specifically keep it for income purposes. We did this for two summer seasons and it was fruitful, however we sensed that the wind was changing and with it, so did we...
After the summer of 2020 we decided to build our dream home/cottage. A place to retire after our kids were grown and independent, but a place where everyone would feel comfortable to return. The plan was to build it, rent it out, then eventually live in it, however the Real Estate market would have other plans for us. The market values for waterfront properties were at an all time high in the spring of 2021 as we were nearing the completion of our dream build. We decided to sell River's Edge and hope that it provides many Muskoka memories just as we intended it to do.
We designed the 1450 sqft -4 season cottage to have large open spaces with an abundance of hidden storage areas. It was built on 27 helical piers plus 8 extra piers for the 800 sqft deck on the front. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths plus a separate room for furnace, electrical and laundry. There is a crawl space accessible under the deck through a side door which is full insulated with spray foam and completely sealed off from the elements.
